delete your account
This page explains how to delete your Manière De Voir account, in the Manière De Voir app or without it, and what happens to your data. Each regional store (UK, US, EU, Canada, Middle East and Australia) holds a separate account. To delete accounts in more than one store, make a request in each.
In the app
You need version 2.0 or later and to be signed in.
- Open Account and tap Delete My Account.
- Tap Delete my account, read the notice and tap Continue. This prepares your request.
- When the request shows Ready to delete, tap Confirm deletion, then Delete.
Your account access is closed as soon as you confirm, and a request to erase the personal data on your customer record is sent to Shopify, the platform that runs our stores. You can cancel from the same screen until that request is sent. After that it cannot be cancelled. For 30 days you can check the request's status from Check a saved deletion request on the sign-in screen, even after signing out. If you have an open order, contact us before deleting your account.
Without the app
Email contact@manieredevoir.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account", and tell us which store or stores. You can also message us on WhatsApp. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will close the account and request erasure of your customer record within 30 days of confirming your identity.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in.
- The personal data on your customer record with Shopify, such as your name, email address, phone number and addresses.
- Your wishlist for that store, in the app and on the website.
What is kept, and for how long
- Order, payment, tax and fraud-prevention records that we or Shopify must keep by law. These are kept for as long as the law requires and are no longer linked to a usable account.
- Records held by our earlier app (back-in-stock and notification records, activity logs and its user record) are not removed by the in-app request. We are retiring that system and will destroy its personal data after the old app is switched off. To have your records erased sooner, email us at the address above.
- Marketing emails and messages, reviews and loyalty are run by separate services and are not covered by the in-app request. Unsubscribe links work as normal; email us to have that data erased.
Timing
In the app, account access closes when you confirm. Shopify erases the customer record under its own process; we do not control its timetable. Email requests are actioned within 30 days.
